Laclede County ARC

No Limits on happiness.

LARC

Laclede County ARC, or LARC, was incorporated in January 1983. Doing business as Laclede Developmental Training Center, (LDTC) they started at the Lutheran Church with a day program for individuals with developmental disabilities. Through the  years we have moved several times, finally settling in 2000 at 200 Lawson Ave. Lebanon, Missouri. In the spring of 2004 LARC added Linking Interest with Needed Kare (LINK), an Adult Day Care, serving Laclede, Wright and Webster counties. LARC is also licensed to provide ISL services.

It is the goal of the LARC to provide services, which assist individuals in achieving their goals. It is our belief that services provided should be services that are desired by the individuals served, and that their desires would drive our service delivery system.

Laclede Developmental Training Center (LDTC), is a day habilitation program, which contracts with the Missouri Department of Mental Health, through the Springfield Regional Center. We provide habilitation (training, instruction), and ISL (Individualized Supported Living) services to adults with developmental disabilities in Laclede County and surrounding areas.

The Day Habilitation Program provides programs that enable adult citizens with a developmental disability to develop more independent lifestyles and maximize their relationships in the community. Services are personalized to individual needs and choices and provided in both group and individual formats.

Day services and activities include:

  • Volunteer activities
  • Social skills training
  • Community integration
  • Communication skills development
  • Functional living activities
  • Supported employment and training
  • Behavior management

Each person served has an annual plan that determines the services that are to be provided. The plan is developed with input from the person served, advocates, and staff members supporting the individual. Services may include assistance with or training in activities of daily living such as transferring and mobility, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, and eating, as well as community integration, budgeting, shopping, volunteer work and continuing education.

To obtain information about day habilitation services or to apply for admission for this program, please contact Chris Aguilar at 417-588-1577 or LacledecoARC@yahoo.com

Program Description

The program is designed to assist older persons or those with developmental disabilities to maintain and retain skills of independence while participating with a peer group in an interactive environment.

Program hours are 7:30 AM until 5:30 PM Monday through Friday. Morning and afternoon snacks, as well as a hot lunch provide the nutritional balance many individuals need. Full day and a limited number of part day positions are provided for the family's convenience. A nurse is available on site for any medical questions, treatments, or medications.

Individuals who would benefit from the Adult Day Center may require structured activities, while in a safe, supervised environment. With emphasis on leisure and personal needs, this is an ideal program for those who want to "slow down" or may need special assistance.
